No matter how strong a sailor or team you are, the success of your racing campaign will depend on the amount of money you have to spend. The good news is there are many ways to help finance a campaign besides reaching into your own wallet.

This section of the website contains a lot of great ideas, resources and tools for raising money and organizing the financial aspects of your sailing campaign. There is a campaign budget worksheet, some excellent articles and advice about raising money, a grant application for the Southport Sailing Foundation, information about other foundations that provide grants and a description of how you can set up a designated “sailor account” with SSF so your supporters can take tax deductions for their donations to your campaign.

If you read and study the information here, you may just realize that raising money to pursue your sailing goals is not as difficult as you might have thought. Many resources exist – it is often just a matter of knowing where to ask!
