PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

When you are trying to organize a sailing campaign and achieve an important goal, it’s critical to know yourself. That’s why we’ve included this section on Personal Attributes, which focuses on four different areas of personal growth that can help you achieve more sailing success.

Self-evaluation is a simple tool that anyone can use to learn more about how to make the most of their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

Integrity & Sportsmanship are especially important in sailboat racing, since the sport is self-policing and small enough that you can’t hide a bad reputation.

Physical Training is a lot more helpful in high-level racing than most sailors think.

The importance of Sports Psychology is also often underestimated. Sailing is such a mental sport,
and that means mental preparation is key to success.
