PEWAUKEE LAKE
Pewaukee, Wisconsin

Pewaukee Lake, or Lake of Shells, is so named for the great quantity of shells found along the shore (not snail shells).  It is a hot spot for iceboating in the Midwest.  Pewaukee Lake is 4.5 miles long and has an average width of 3/4 of a mile.  The lake is fed almost entirely by springs.  The deepest part of the lake is 46 feet.  Lake Pewaukee is renowned for it's abundance of fish.
