Rebecca Dellenbaugh is Head Coach at Noroton YC’s Girls Opti Clinic

Noroton Yacht Club is hosting the Girls Opti Clinic and Regatta this Sunday, June 30 & Monday, July 1.

The clinic coaches will include top women sailors. Rebecca Dellenbaugh, former Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association All-American Skipper and winner of the U.S. Youth Championship, is the Head Coach. Some of the other coaches returning to coach the clinic this year are Emily Dellenbaugh, Janel Zarowski, Tory Lynch, Mackenzie Milne, JJ Monro and Julia Monro. The coach to sailor ratio will be targeted at 1:7 to provide a very positive and intensive experience.

The clinic will include both on the water sessions and on clubhouse chalk talks, and will focus on rigging, boat handling, and racing tactics. Sailors will be divided into groups based on experience, allowing for targeted skill development for sailors of all levels. White Fleet sailors are encouraged to sign up for this event as there will be coaching specifically for their level as well.

An all-girls regatta that follows on Monday provides a great opportunity for the sailors to immediately apply the coaching lessons from the clinic.
