US Sailing Determines Selection Process for 2016 World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Championship

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (December 15, 2015) – The 2016 World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Championship will be held in Noumea, New Caledonia from June 14-18, 2016, in Elliott 6m’s. Sailors must be under 23 in 2016 in order to compete.

US Sailing announces that the selection process for the skipper representing the U.S. will be by resume.

In order to be considered for selection, skippers must meet these eligibility criteria:

  • They must be current members of US Sailing when competing in the World Sailing Youth Match Racing Worlds
  • They must be a US citizen or eligible permanent resident with written authorization from World Sailing for an exemption under ISAF Regulation 24.5.4
  • They must meet the eligibility requirements of World Sailing regulation 19, Eligibility Code
  • They must not have turned 23 years of age as of December 31, 2016

Applications must be submitted by midnight Central time on February 1, 2016.
